We are incredibly saddened by the loss of filmmaker Tom Collins, pictured here at the premiere of his last two feature films at the Fleadh, Penance (2017) and An Bronntanas (2014). A long time alum and supporter of the Fleadh, Tom's work exemplified what we love best - indigenous cinema for indigenous audiences. His work was inspired by and centred around his native Derry and the surrounding landscape, and he was pioneering in his work in terms of both representation of the North-West on screen and Irish language cinema. His legacy and passion will persevere through his work, the filmmakers he inspired, and his dedicated family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
