Our beloved Blathnaid Blumbus, 2008(?) - 2024 We adopted her when she was 10 with the goal of giving her a decent retirement; in return she gave us 5 long years of happiness and cuddles, and she made every flat into a home. The best judge of character and a friend to all - a visitor’s lap never went unsat on, and she adored every tradesperson who entered the flat. Excellent tastes, even when she ate our Christmas dinner while we weren’t looking. Far smaller and way less mean than she appeared in the pictures. Look, she was a total sweetheart everyone agrees. Screamed the whole way through the 12-hour journey to Ireland, then immediately settled into life in Dublin like nothing had changed. So happy in our new house this year (with stairs!), until her recent kidney disease diagnosis. The best, brightest, bushiest, my beautiful Blathnaid, I was so lucky to have you. I’ll miss your little face waiting for me at the window, your tiny silly noises, your headbutts to wake me up every morning. But I hope heaven is a lap to snooze on, a sunbeam through a window, and a roast chicken carcass cooling on a countertop nearby. God, she filled our house with love. 💗💗💗
