Can someone please tell me how I got so smart (and sexy)!?!? Jokes aside, this day has been a long time coming. I feel so proud to have been admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court after 6 years of studies. Despite the slog that accompanied my endeavour, I learned the most from the friends and mentors I met along the way and am so grateful to be growing alongside them (you).❤ I am also most proud to have had my parents see my hard work come to fruition. When I was younger, I didn't think people like me did law so to be here today, I'm feeling chuffed! Before I started working in law I struggled to align my "opposing" interests in music/the arts with my career in law (and unsolicited opinions on this too), at times feeling stuck between two worlds. It has taken lots of little moments for me to see that the lack of role models in this space, or perhaps rather the rigid ideas of what it means to be a "professional" or an "artist" should by no means make me less proud of my achievements or pursuits!! Balancing opposing interests has so far made me more confident in myself and my expectations when in comes to work and life! Moral of the story? I got admitted and I'm excited about it! Other moral? If people think that what you're doing doesn't make sense/ is too hard/ is unprofessional/ is sellout/ is WHATEVER - don't live within the projection of what others have of you!! I'm proud of you, I'm proud of us and as Zyzz would have said, were all gonna make it!💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
