Dünürşü from Ottoman Turkish دوكور‎ - a bride’s mother in law and her friends who help the wedding go smoothly. For thousands of years, the traditions of many peoples of Anatolia, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, the Caucasus, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and, of course, the ancient world have merged into an original alloy, which today is generally called Turkish, or Asia Minor culture. The features of the rites and traditions accompanying the marriage ceremony, folk rituals have long accompanied the most significant events in a person's life in those lands. They were sacredly revered, carefully passed down from generation to generation. Many ancient customs have survived to this day. Konya, Taskent is one of those magical spots of many. The village people still live and breathe their traditions in the purest way. We got to spend 5 magical days in this village and documented the ceremony of a marriage. Our narrative wasn’t fashion, it was the reality of now and then. However, fashion is a GREAT tool to merge the past and future; analyze and deliver the sociocultural statues of the lands and their people.
