Comparing images shot on the @canonusa 5D Mark IV to ones from my new Canon R5 gifted from @bhphoto & @bh.creators 📸 For each of these shots, I used the same camera settings (ISO, shutter speed, aperture, and Kelvin white balance) as well as the same lens (Canon EF35mm F1.4 - I used an adapter with the R5). Both are incredible cameras. So here’s my first impressions when it comes to image quality ... - The R5 quality is WAY sharper (45MP sensor vs. 30MP on the Mark IV) - The R5 performs better in low light - The R5 has amazing face and eye tracking which makes autofocusing faster and easier. For me, this is the most exciting difference; I’m blown away by how quickly it tracks the eye even when using an EF-mount lens with an adapter!! - The RAW images on the R5 seem cooler and slightly more desaturated in color in these images, whereas the RAW images on the Mark IV seem warmer and more saturated My overall takeaway? Although the colors are slightly different than what I’m used to, you can play around with changing the Color Profiles in Lightroom from “Adobe RAW” to “Camera Matching” profiles, which bring back the saturation. There are soooo many exciting aspects to the Canon R5 that I’m beyond stoked about the upgrade! I’ll be sharing more of my favorite features soon 💓📸 Link to camera: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1547009-REG/canon_eos_r5_mirrorless_digital.html
