This week LA County launched its inaugural Youth Climate Commission! This groundbreaking commission was the brainchild of myself and @_deelaney. and its now come to life. This idea of a commission came to me 3 years ago. And I am really proud of my dream becoming a reality and those who helped make it happen. A special thanks to @_deelaney for believing in me and helping me get this going! Today, I know that we as young people in the County of Los Angeles and all 88 cities will get a voice within the government to take direct action against the climate crisis. This commission is the first In the nation and first in the world. Help us find driven young adults to serve as Commissioners by spreading the word abt the application. Commissioners are tasked with making recommendations to shape County climate policy. With the Inflation Reduction Act now signed and the LA County Youth Climate Commission now off the ground, it really does feel like a good week to celebrate real climate wins and bask in the dogged optimism that us climate champions have to believe in to do this kind of work every day.
