Our first home south of the equator was designed by @flackstudio_ with a myriad of inspirations — Robin Boyd’s The Australian Ugliness, the paintings of Albert Namatjira and the Australian suburbs in the ’70s — filling the rooms with custom-designed pieces, lush textures and warm tones. Our friends @efficient_space hand-picked 320 records, spanning homegrown heroes to sounds of the universe, providing the soundtrack for in-room sonic exploration. Flack Studio assembled a band of artists at the forefront of contemporary Australian art to showcase the country's renegade spirit. Brash, playful and no-holds-barred, they’ve built one of the most ambitious hotel art programs in Australia: a fine match for the verve of Surry Hills. Every space has been considered, right down to the chromatic, stacked brick front desk by ceramist @jameslemon. We’re incredibly happy to invite you in and can’t wait to see how you use the place.
