METASTATIC BREAST CANCER AWARENESS DAY 13th October The only day dedicated to Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness 31 women a day die from metastatic breast cancer Breast cancer doesn't kill, metastatic breast cancer does Do you know the difference? Metastatic breast cancer is when the breast cancer cells have metastasised to other areas of the body, meaning they have spread and set up camp elsewhere The main areas that breast cancer spreads to are the bones, lung, liver or brain Once it has spread it then becomes incurable This is often know as Stage 4. There is no stage 5! Many people are living with metastatic breast cancer, but regardless treatment won't last forever. Since my diagnosis I have lost so may incredible people I have got to know to from this disease. Sadly I will lose many many more and one day, it will be me. Living knowing this is tough. Breast cancer is tough. Stage 4 breast cancer is tough So today let's shout about it. Share awareness. Get everyone talking about it We need more. More awareness, more research and more time Let's stand together.
