Y’all loved my marry me chicken pot pie soup so I decided to create something similar with my chili recipe topped with a cornbread crust! You can definitely make my homemade cornbread from my last recipe or you can use a box Mix for an easy weeknight dinner! Chili pot pies ✨1 box of store bought cornbread ✨ 2lb ground beef or turkey ✨1 can black beans ✨1 can red beans ✨2 onions minced ✨2 cloves of garlic minced ✨3/4C red wine ✨1 C water or chicken stock ✨1 cup tomato sauce ✨1 28oz can whole tomato(or crushed) ✨3-4T chili seasoning (see recipe below) ✨1 Bay leaf ✨salt to taste For garnish: cheddar, sour cream, minced red onion 1. Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add ground meat and cook until about 50% browned. 2. Stir in onions and garlic, cook until translucent. 3. Pour in wine, simmer ~7 min until reduced. 4. Add whole tomatoes (crush by hand) or use crushed tomatoes, plus tomato sauce, water, red beans, black beans, chili seasoning & bay leaf. Season with salt to taste. 5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer ~2 hrs, stirring occasionally. 6. make your cornbread mixture then add your chili to a ramekin and top it with your cornbread mixture and bake at 375°F for 20 minutes. 7.Serve hot with cheddar cheese, sour cream & minced red onions. Unsalted Chili Seasoning ✨1.5T chili powder ✨1/4t cayenne (add less if you don’t want it super spicy) ✨1/2T crushed red pepper ✨1T garlic powder ✨2t cumin ✨2t parsley ✨2T sugar ✨1/2t black pepper *Store in an airtight container or bag. #cozyrecipes #fallrecipes #chili #cornbread #chilipotpie
