Christmas may be known as the most wonderful time of the year but if you ask us, it’s actually Carnival season that takes the (king) cake. We love it so much–partially because of the parades and pageantry–but mostly because of King Cake. Ask any New Orleanian their favorite King Cake in the city and they’re sure to give you an impassioned answer. Luckily, finding your favorite King Cakes (and King Cake-inspired goodies) is made easy with two seasonal pop-ups - @kingcakeconnection & @kingcakehub! 💜 King Cake Connection is a @whereblacknolaeats pop-up at @eatdrinksofab and has the largest collection of King Cakes & King Cake-inspired treats from Black-owned businesses. Open every Thursday - Sunday from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., you can find a wide variety of King Cakes from traditional cakes from @adriansbakery to more modern takes like the Sweet Potato Cream Cheese King Cake from @chef_rena_ray. King Cake Connection also offers non-traditional King Cake treats like popcorn from @mynnyechocolates, cookies from @nolacookieco & even candles from @candlesxconradrose 1504 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. 💚 King Cake Hub is in its fifth year as a one-stop shop for King Cakes from all over the city. This year, King Cake Hub is offering two pop-up locations - one at @zonymashbeer and one in the French Quarter. With 15+ bakery partners, the options at King Cake Hub are restocked daily. Like King Cake Connection, King Cake Hub also offers more modern takes on the classic including Ooey Gooey King Cake Brownies, Hot Chocolate Bombs, and more. 1464 S. Broad St. & 520 Royal St. 💛 Not in NOLA? No problem, many bakeries ship their King Cakes across the country! Peep the link in our bio for more information.
