Making a highly anticipated return to the spotlight after a break from music, South Korean pop-rock band The Rose are ready to make their way to centre stage once again. Since their debut into mainstream media in 2017 with the single Sorry, the band, consisting of Woosung, Dojoon, Jaehyeong and Hajoon, have gone from being labelled Breakout Stars to becoming a world-renowned group, touring the globe, opening for Halsey’s 2021 Manic World Tour in Seoul and gained critical acclaim for their unique sound within the K-pop genre. Now, returning to music after their enlistment, The Rose just released their first studio album entitled, Heal. “We always felt music to be a friend who is there sitting next to you, whatever you’re going through in your life,” explains Woosung in the autumn issue of Glass Man. “Through the ups and through the downs, whatever it is, if that music can get you through your day that’s what we want and that’s our purpose as musicians. That’s why we called this album Heal because it was our premise when starting The Rose, and that has always been our main message”. Considered a love letter to their fans, nicknamed the Black Roses, as well as drawing upon the bandmates five years together, the message of this project is one synonymous with escapism, optimism and ultimately their dedication to their craft. All agreeing this to be a new chapter in the band’s story, The Rose speak of their excitement to take this deeply personal album with them on tour in 2023.
