Feliz mes de la herencia hispana! Estoy feliz de poder tener mis dibujos en muestra en el museo de niños de Phoenix por este mes. One of my highlights from last week was a Mexican family that came into the museum. They walked around the room to see my drawings and as they were leaving the dad asked “are you the artist?” I answered yes and he called his young daughter over to chat a bit with me. I asked her if she liked to draw and she said yes. The parents asked me about my work and I told them I’ve been doing it full time for 2 years. “See, keep it up and maybe one day you can be like her and have your stuff up at the museum” said the dad to the little girl. This interaction tugged at my heart strings. The little girl reminded me of myself when I was her age. I’ll never get over all of the wonderful, beautiful things I’ve been able to experience these last couple of years. I hope one day this little girl is able to have her work up somewhere.
