One of the many silver linings of the rebuilding process is the opportunity to work with our local fire department on training and education for their firefighters. During the off-season, these men and women work tirelessly to improve their skills and technical knowledge so they can do the kind of work that helped salvage much of our facility during the Glass Fire. Last week, President of the Napa County Fire Association and Cal Fire fireman Ryan Bennie, came to Sterling to collect the defunct towers from our aerial tram. He and his crew will repurpose these materials into training structures that firefighters from across the Valley will use to practice their fire containment and safety skills.
