9 December 2020 Sydney Opera House World Premiere Screening Tickets in bio MYTH is a surreal live performance film. It is also a new mini album. I can’t wait to see it on the big screen with you all. MYTH follows the fractured narrative of Luna + Sol( @iblamejordan )two star crossed lovers, born into a genetically engineered society ‘The New Monarchy.’ Over the years, I've developed a fascination with visual storytelling and live performance. I’m obsessed with the details and tiny intricacies, all intertwining to create the magic on stage. Each element has a voice and performs with equal importance; the lights, costuming, sound, performers. The harmony of each creative decision is integral to storytelling. I’ve always thought it was curious that we often choose to capture live performance in a box, whilst we all voyeuristically watch from below or above. I wanted to explore what would happen if we bought the audience into the performance...onto the stage, and broke down the fourth wall. I thought...what better way to do that, than to use the medium of film. I have been working on this concept since June 2020, when I wrote the MYTH feature film treatment and the coinciding musical score. This helped me to build the setting, the characters and the overarching narrative. From there, I went down a rabbit hole of visually creating the worlds, serendipitously meeting people along the way who amplified and guided the process to places I could never imagine. I have spent the last 4 months, crossing my fingers and toes that what I felt in my body and what I could see in my imagination, would translate into the camera. The performance was filmed in ‘one long shot’ which means every individual scene was filmed in a pre rehearsed single take. Everything you see on camera is a carefully considered intersection of creative skills, married with magical spontaneity. There is something so entrancing about the synergy and spontaneity of it all. It’s visceral, primal and spiritual. I am so grateful to those who helped this vision come to life. I will be opening with an ‘artist’s talk’ and the theatre will be open prior for champagne too 🖤
