Our Dad once described this book as a reflection of his legacy. A curated selection of nearly 14,000 photos, Indomitable Spirit documents over 50 years of his relationship with Taekwondo, and the immigrant story of our parents as they built a life together in a new country, raised a family, and cultivated a community through martial arts. Beginning his training with the Singapore Taekwondo Association in 1964, Grandmaster Teh Kim Soon would go on to establish Outreach Martial Arts in 1991 in Ladysmith, British Columbia, where he instilled confidence and self-esteem through the five tenets of Taekwondo: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit. He taught students of all ages and backgrounds, meeting each with patience, empathy, and unwavering purpose. Indomitable Spirit is a not-for-profit photography book project with three pricing options to choose from. After covering production costs, all proceeds will be donated to the Kidney Foundation of Canada and the Victoria Hospitals Foundation (Kidney Care). These two organizations were essential throughout our father’s health journey, providing outstanding care, resources and support.
