BLANC MAGAZINE Issue 14: Metamorphosis Story: Then / Now / Always • • .my fashion story entitled #ThenNowAlways tells the story of the Black woman finding the light within herself and pulling herself out of the darkness that society perpetually cast on her .she has to sadly rely on herself alone for strength since she is constantly forgotten about .however, when she decides to count on herself, and transcend past the false narrative put upon her, the #metamorphosis from the shadows to the light is a wonder and a magic that we all get to witness .for her light shines brighter than a thousand suns • • .words can not express the happiness and gratitude that i have right now .since i decided to make photography my career, my goal was always to shoot a fashion editorial for a prominent publication .once i started learning more about the industry, the goal became more specific and i set out to shoot an editorial using labels like #gucci , #isseymiyake for @blancmagazine with specific people on the my creative team .i stayed consistent and persistent on making that goal a reality .i believed in the story i wanted to tell and here we are • • .i would like to personally thank @teneshiacarr and @oliver_vaughn for believing in me and taking a shot on me .i truly appreciate you both .I also want to thank @missdionnenyc for bringing me to the #BlancMagazine issue release party pre-pandemic to meet the Blanc team and helping me be more specific with the goal .thank you to @ajong.y and her agent @tinylittlecracker , you both are amazing .i also want to show appreciation to my creative team @hairbyromorgan , @jaleesajaikaran and @goingthextrastyle for also taking a chance on me .it was/is a pleasure and honor to work with all of you .huge thank you to the assistants on the team .without you guys, the shoot would not have ran as smoothly as it did • • Photography / Producer: @tonewoolfe Model: @ajong.y Casting: @cochranecasting / @missdionnenyc Styling: @goingthextrastyle Hair: @hairbyromorgan Makeup: @jaleesajaikaran Makeup Assistant: @crissystyle Photo Asst: @pharaohrex ProductionAsst: @dezidubrae / @nanakofiasaree
