Sometimes I feel like there are thoughts in my head that are not mine—when I'd encounter a situation and decide on the step that I would do next, I would realize that that's advice you've given me, or a thought you shared once. Friendship does that, I think: the longer you're friends with someone, the more they become the voice in your head, as if your mind has been entangled with theirs—forces caught by the gravity of each other. Now I realize, the thoughts are mine, in as much as you are part of me, as much as I am a part of you. Dear Gretch, all the years you've lived and shared have given so much richness and meaning, not just to my life I'm sure, but also to all the people you love and have loved.
