We mourn the loss of artist Freddy Rodriguez- (1945-2022) a great talent and friend of our community who inspired so many generations and will be remembered with pride, love and appreciation by all. From his Artist Statement:: “I see art as the ultimate form of freedom. From the beginning, my artistic and intellectual curiosity has pushed me to explore different subjects, techniques, styles and materials. I’ve been working as an artist for over 40 years, and I still need to explore new territories and possibilities with my art.” —image; Freddy Rodríguez in his studio located at 133 West 22nd (1974) standing alongside paintings Danza de Carnaval (1974), Amor Africano (1974), and Untitled (1970), photo by Juan Li courtesy of @dulcinaabreu
