Happy #NationalBagelDay! You might not think of New Orleans as a hot spot for bagels, but the Crescent City is full of pleasant surprises. Here are a few of our favorite spots for delicious, doughy, and down-right delectable bagels!
🥯 @flourmoonbagels (pictures 1-2) Flour Moon opened in early 2022 on the Lafitte Greenway in Mid-City, and our bagel scene hasn't been the same since. From loaded bagels (like in the first pic) to simple classics (like the second), Flour Moon is churning out freshly made bagels, schmears, sandwiches, tartines, sweet treats, and beverages.
📍 457 N Dorgenois Street
🥯 @humblebagel An OG on the bagel scene in NOLA, Humble Bagel has been slingin' bagels for years. They're known for their authentic, hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagels, which are made fresh daily. Humble Bagel was started by a New York native, so you know it's the real deal.
📍 4716 Freret Street
🥯 @bywaterbakerynola Having been in the news recently as the bakers behind @taylorswift's birthday cake, you may have heard of Bywater Bakery. This beloved neighborhood bakery churns out some of the best cakes and pastries in the Crescent City, and every Friday* they offer hand-made bagels. Fair warning though, they sell out quickly. If you miss out on the bagels, there's a full menu of other delicious and decadent breakfast items for you to enjoy.
(*They are not doing Bagel Friday during the Carnival season)
