In the second part of our architecture series “What can architecture do for you?” on September 27th at 7 pm, we look at the theme “Resilience in times of crises”. This time Lebanese architect Lina Ghotmeh (@linaghotmeh) and Israeli artist Yael Bartana (@yaelbartana) and moderator Oliver Wainwrigh (@ollywainwright) will discuss the ways in which architecture and art can support communities in times of crises. Lina Ghotmeh famous “Stone Garden Tower” , just a mile away from the epicentre of the explosion that ripped through Beirut in 2020, today stands as a testament of the persistence of life at the heart of the city. Similarly, the artist Yael Bartana merges past and future in an alternative reality. In multimedia and performance formats, she addresses collective traumas and the desire for redemption and change.
