“Steady” - Self-portrait in southern Nevada 2019 // This is the first self-portrait I’ve taken in years, and I felt so giddily nostalgic when it happened. Back in my early days, self-portrait photography and the 365 I attempted laid the path for the conceptual and editorial photography that I aspire to capture today. In the hay day of Flickr, I had the opportunity to meet (online & in person!) incredible and talented photographers who were exploring the extent of their passion, just as I was. It was through this community that I felt empowered to move to NYC and pursue my photography as a main source of income. Years later (and another move, now to LA) I find myself reminiscing on my personal era of photography where I felt most inspired. For this reason, I will be posting and sharing old self-portraits of mine that I took years ago. Part of me is nervous to share such old work, but the love I have for connecting with others and sharing my true self is greater. Cheers all!
