Let’s go into 2023 doing what we want regardless of what people say! Because the first thing people told me when I was pregnant was “you know you’re not going to be able to travel anymore”. Then when we did it was “you’re wasting your money taking them on these trips, they won’t remember.” But my husband and I will remember! We’ll remember these trips forever. And the girls have learned so much through travel. Kids don’t remember all the books we read them as a baby either, shoot I don’t remember what I had for dinner last Wednesday. But it’s more than them remembering the moment, it’s the lessons they learn along the way. They’ve learned patience, how to adapt in different situations, that everyone doesn’t live like them, believe they same things as them and that that’s ok. They’ve tried different foods they aren’t used to. They’ve pushed themselves past their perceived limits to try things like hang gliding. I’m so glad we never listened to half the things people told us we could no longer do once we had kids. And if the last 3yrs have taught us anything, it’s to enjoy life now because the life we live today isn’t promised tomorrow.
