Thank you beloved Woods for this warm and wonderful wander. It was a surprise. It was a delight. It was nourishing to mind and spirit (a little less so to body- baby gots SO many bruises and burn those shoes they hurt like a motherf *). The generosity of this piece is what strikes me-it’s ability to invite our childlike playfulness to fold in next to our wise-minded grief. It is a story about the ache of simply being alive. No straight lines. No predictability. No alternative except the bottom of a giant’s foot. I am a fearful person and this message is well timed. But as much as I gained from the material itself, it was the people I truly fell in love with. They made it all speak and sing and dance and prance and the merry mayhem was easy and uncomplicated and buoyant and contagious. (Covid joke. Ahem). It was easier leaving with friends but it was still not easy to leave. I loved it so very much and I am so grateful for the seeds of healing and hope that will continue to be sown from this incredible company of @intothewoodsbroadway, and this perfect, profound show. It was an honor to share this stage and this creative process with these souls and I will cherish this time forever and ever.
