Because we wanted to offer you something special for Christmas, we decided to release our first fully 3D typeface today! Vienna based designer Vincent Wagner @studio_brot modeled Pilowlava shapes in 3D, sculpting every individual glyph in their most bulbuous details. Note how the z-thickness of the strokes is not uniform, increasing and decreasing with the width of the strokes, but not linearly. The achieved effect is such as the one you would get by bending a metal tube. This work brings Pilowlava into the haptic world. Vincent Wagner worked in close loops with Pilowlava original designers @antonmoglia and @studiotriple_ to make his 3D work as close to their original vision as possible and he even exceeded it!
