One of our amazing heroes @mrshilfiger #deeocleppo - - - - - - Today is World Autism Awareness Day and the entire month of April is dedicated to supporting and raising awareness of our growing autistic community. 1 in every 59 children will be diagnosed with ASD ( autism spectrum disorder). There is no known cause and no cure. We obviously need to fund more research but we also need to educate ourselves and have compassion, understanding and acceptance for both the children and families that are trying to cope with life with Autism. Our family has been affected by autism and it is certainly not easy. I remember being yelled at at a broadway show by a very nasty and mean woman because of one of our children’s autistic behavior was annoying her. Families with autism have to deal with things like that constantly.
