Riding my motorcycle back from @thenine_montgomery photo lecture last Sunday i passed by this hand made Alabama Roll Tide sign that looked like it was older then me. (swipe left for other slides) I went down the road a few miles and in my head i knew i would be pissed off when i got home because i didn’t stop and ask to take a photo of it. I turned my bike around and pulled into the driveway. I shut my motorcycle off and while i was taking my helmet off i introduced myself to the gentleman walking towards me that looked a little confused why a stranger had just pulled into his driveway. I stated my case about his hand made sign and how lovely i thought it was and that put him right at ease. “ you wouldn’t believe this Jerimiah, but you’re about the 3rd person in 26 years to stop and take a photo of this sign. I’m actually fixing to take it down and put up a new one. “ On the porch about 50 yards away was a concerned woman that seemed confused why a man on a motorcycle was taking photos of her husband with this sign. I did what any decent human would do and walked over and introduced myself, i told her if she was comfortable i would love to make her photo as well and to my surprise she was thrilled. Lurline & Tirrel have been married for 35 years, they both embody the American dream and southern hospitality. A lot of people are often confused why i do the things i do as a photographer, and honestly that’s fine by me. That moment i had with two complete strangers standing in there driveway on a 95 degree summer day was perfect in my head. When i print out the photo and bring it back to them to keep forever it all kinda makes sense. Thanks for listening. These photos were made with my Bronica SQA & @palmpancro . #palmpancro #bronicasqa
