Tips I Often Share with my Patients SOAPS 🧼 - Traditional soaps are alkaline meaning a pH of 8 and above. These soaps can cause an irritation and dryness. Consider neutral pH soaps. TOOTHPASTE - Toothpaste on pimples simply DOES NOT WORK. BLUE LIGHT - Being melanated, I would never use blue light to my skin. There are so many devices over the counter that have blue light which can stimulate melanocytes and cause hyperpigmenation. If you are melanated and have melasma or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation be careful of the dangers of blue light. Don’t forget that blue light is also emitted from the ☀️. Always wear sunscreen daily.
