An underrated reason that you’re not exercising regularly? Emotional issues! Midlife is full of them. Ageing parents, kids leaving home , a multitude of changes our body that we didn’t see coming. People who have had adverse challenges in childhood may experience mores struggles with the midlife hormonal changes than those who did not have so many/less adverse challenges in childhood. PMID: 33308631 Exercising can really help us get through this difficult stage. It can also help reduce hot flushes and decrease psychological distress PMID: 35102099. So ALWAYS make time to get some exercise. Even if you can’t do it all in one go, break it up into bitesize chunks to do throughout the day.
