When my Mother found out that she was pregnant with a girl, she decided to leave Iran to give me the freedoms and equality that she was denied by the Iranian regime. Her sacrifice has made me the woman I am today and I am forever grateful. Iranian women are now fighting for that freedom and equality within Iran. It fills me with pride to see their strength and resilience being recognised by Time Magazine as Heroes of the Year. This is a fight they are going to win.
