Admin reveal: I’m Chelsea, 37, a producer in Portland. In March I was diagnosed with advanced triple negative breast cancer. Treatment has been challenging in ways I didn’t expect. The physical changes are obvious—hair loss, fatigue, pain, brain fog that affects my memory and focus. I’ve also dealt with premature menopause and learning new limits for what my body can handle. Emotionally, it’s meant grappling with questions of identity and time in ways I never anticipated. What keeps me strong is my incredible support system. My medical team provides both excellent care and genuine compassion. My family and friends have shown up with endless love and practical help. Brian, my incredible partner, has been my constant source of strength. I’m also using both conventional treatment coupled with integrative practices and therapies to stay grounded. I’m only in the beginning of this treatment journey but I’m learning so much. This experience has taught me that fighting doesn’t always look heroic. Sometimes it’s just showing up for treatment, trusting the process, and staying open to growth during difficult times. We’re not just getting through this—we’re moving forward with purpose and hope.
