My latest column is live - this one is for you Big Mama. At her funeral, I held her hand, her fingers intertwined with the red and white rosary beads I gifted her years ago. When I first brought it home from my European travels as a gift for her, I never imagined it would be the final thing she would hold as she is laid to rest. And it got me thinking: how often do we say and do things, conscious that it might be the very thing that someone literally or figuratively takes to their grave? If nothing else, I hope this piece reminds you that you have the chance to leave people with something so beautiful, they carry it with them forever.
