It seems the day has finally come. One that no amount of preparation could make any easier.
After 10 amazing years I can finally say that my volleyball career has come to an end. It’s bittersweet hearing that let alone accepting it. No amount of words can describe how grateful I am for this sport. I have learned so much from the game. Not just competitive aspects but how to work with other people, how to persevere in the face of adversity, and how to build unbreakable bonds with other people. The people I have met through current and past programs will forever hold a special place in my heart. Some of my oldest and closest friendships have been formed through the sport and I will forever be grateful for that. And even though my volleyball journey has come to an end, I know that ours has not.
Sitting here I honestly cannot remember a time in my life without this sport. Almost everyday since the 6th grade volleyball has been apart of my life and my days. Whether it was practice after school, going to club tournaments, or even just watching on the tv. It has truly consumed my entire existence. I’m simply not quite ready to say goodbye and I’m not sure I ever will be but I am beyond excited to see who I will be without it. So here’s to fresh endings and new beginnings!
