The past couple of weeks I’ve been spending a ton of time on preparing for my upcoming photography exhibition. Aside from the 50 prints I will showcase, I am also adding an extra video element. I felt that was needed to show the untold beauty and raw power of volcanic eruptions. This particular fragment is very dear to me. I filmed this particular video right after the lava fountain had erupted and the leftover liquid lava inside the crater settled down. It shows off how incredibly beautiful the inside of the main crater of the Geldingadalir eruption was. Some think it looks like the sun but to me, it resembles a beating heart with veins leading outwards, breathing life into the new landscape. What you actually see is see the lava slowly coming up from the depths of the earth within. To me, it’s absolutely mind-blowing we now have the technology to capture these things on video. What a time to be alive! For those who are curious: this is not a cropped video. I actually managed to fly this close (almost inside of the crater) because it was extremely windy on this day. It caused the rising heat to dissipate so fast that my drone came out of this without a scratch. #iceland #vulcano #teamlavaforever #mystopover #natureconnected #connectiontonature #lostinlove #wonderlustcollective #mavic2pro #roamtheplanet #islandia #earthtones #lifeofadventure #stayandwander #visualsoflife #keepitwild #exploringtheglobe #reel #yourshotphotographer #moodygrams #earthoutdoors #drone #inspiredbynature #inspiredbyiceland #islandia #mavic #hellofrom #exploringtheglobe #dji #reelofinstagram
