For many people there are no safe and 'legal' routes to the UK, forcing people to make life threatening journeys. Refugee resettlement is down 75% since pre-covid levels and family reunion is down 36%. We need safe routes and quicker decisions now. No one leaves their home unless they are forced to. People fleeing unimaginable situations need to be treated with care and compassion. Seeking safety is not a crime—it is a human right.
