It felt incredible being on the mic in front of a live audience again! Connecting with people from different walks of life coming together to rally around the same incredible cause that @girlforwardgram represents. I didn’t know what my speaking engagements and work was going to look like as a new mom, or if I would even be able to sustain this aspect of my life that I am so passionate about. It was a challenge to coordinate all the different elements, but I chose to bring my son with me because I wanted him to see his mama in her element. We are often told that we have to sacrifice everything of ourselves when becoming parents, and while there are compromises you make because your priorities change in the best way, you can and should remain true to yourself and your individuality. Being a parent doesn’t take away or erase everything else you represent, and we need to encourage more of this mentality in our community. I am so honored that I had this opportunity to serve as a keynote speaker for @girlforwardgram 10 year anniversary event. I am inspired by the girls they support and hearing their journeys and their future dreams served as a reminder for me to never give up on my dreams 🤍
