Into the Light . After discovering a family of foxes earlier this year, I watched them play, run, and wrestle in the early morning light for several days in a row. I learned where they lived and the paths they’d like to take getting from place to place, slowly finding the best vantage points to see them better while keeping my distance. Eventually, I learned there was one spot I could park my car near one of the pathways and take photos from the drivers seat while staying out of view, which allowed me more time for photos since the family was more likely to stay in one place. They were generally very curious of me, and my presence didn’t deter them from wandering around me, but they were less skittish with me apparently trapped in my vehicle haha. At one point, the mom stepped out from the shadows and into the sunlight, watching her kits, and seemingly enjoying the brisk morning as much as I was. It’s really such a fun experience to watch these animals and observe their personalities in action, and hopefully I’ll be able to do it again soon. Happy Friday, everyone! 📸 York County, Maine • 5/22
