One of my favorite pull-outs in Yosemite Valley: Reed’s Pinnacle. And it overlooks The Rostrum, which is one of my all-time favorite climbs. The first time I climbed it was in the early aughts, with my good friend Bill Beckwith. It was a Sunday afternoon in October, prime time, and for some reason not a soul around. It was like surfing Rincon all by yourself. I have since done the climb multiple times, mostly with other teams on the route, and it is still great—one of the best crack climbs in the world. I recon I’ll keep coming back to it. Photo 1: Self portrait at Reed’s Pinnacle in Yosemite for @yeti back in 2018. Photo 2-3: Frame grabs of me on the second to last pitch of the Rostrum.
