I’m just getting back from a 6 week expedition to Greenland. I sent some pictures and stories out with one of the team members who had to leave early, but in general I’ve been mostly off grid the whole summer. I’m going to spend the next week or two posting a lot of my personal pictures with an emphasis on the team. But the general overview of the trip, which was filmed for a special on @natgeo next year, is that it was a journey through remote Eastern Greenland to climb two unclimbed walls and do quite a bit of science along the way. Technically, we succeeded in all of our objectives, but it never felt like a sure thing. The weather was often quite bad and logistics proved challenging. And both walls turned out to be bigger and harder than expected (which really turned out to be a theme for Greenland more generally - the landscape was more vast and challenging than almost anywhere else on earth). It was an amazing trip, but I’m very excited to be back in the States with my family again...
