just got home from my time in Rwanda. it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. my memories will include vivid details of the days I sat in the homes of women and widows, when I played with kids that reminded me of hudson, when we lost track of time sharing stories over each meal, and the moments I was moved to tears by learning more of Gods heart for the vulnerable. those that welcomed me, guided me, and loved on me taught me so much about what it means to protect, care, and advocate for the vulnerable. something we so desperately need more of in this world.
i’ve dreamed of using my skills for a worthwhile cause and this is the most meaningful work I can imagine. to be welcomed into the intimate parts of people’s homes, families, communities, friendships and share their stories is a great privilege.
