The noise is loud right now but I’m keeping my peace 🌞✨ . . This morning I found myself in the comment section of some of our @blacklove clips and read the conversations people held about how if they were my father they wouldn’t accept me /my wife/ family either, how horrible it is for my sons to be raised by two women and how “people like me” are always trying to force others to accept them. . . We knew that these comments and opinions would come and I told myself not to go there because a person’s opinion about me doesn’t concern me...yet there I was. But let’s be clear, I am not forcing my father to love and accept me. Yeah it would have been nice to receive unconditional love and support of who I am from a parent, but that is his prerogative. As it is mine to set boundaries with anyone that wants to love or accept me with conditions. . . Sharing my story...my truth...it’s not about getting other’s acceptance or approval. I share transparently in hopes my story reaches a soul who is dealing with something similar and now sees they are not alone. I share transparently because representation matters. I share transparently because in living in my truth it might give courage for someone else to live in their truth.
