This is how I begin the first hour every morning, slowly waking up my brain as I walk (and Bailey runs) around local dog parks. I love witnessing her joy as she bounds through the tall grass and blazes her own path.
I use this time differently each day. Sometimes I put on my headphones and catch up on a podcast, sermon, or voice notes from a friend. Lately, though, I've been taking quiet walks, choosing stillness and solitude over noise—even the good kind.
Unsurprisingly, some of my best headline options and messaging strategies have come from these slow, meandering walks. In a world that prizes quick fixes and hustle culture, many of us want to choose another way—a quieter way.
When we reconnect with the world through our senses rather than technology, the solutions we seek finally have room to breathe. As they rise to the surface, they're ready to be explored and shaped into the kind of ideas our clients love.
What ideas have you discovered while walking that you never would have found through a screen?
