It sounds wild, but the backstory is actually pretty iconic. After students at Arizona State University voted to become the Sun Devils in 1946, the school brought in Disney illustrator Berk Anthony to design the mascot. Anthony worked on classics like Snow White and Pinocchio, and he’s the artist behind Sparky’s original look. Over the years, people started noticing Sparky’s face looked a little too familiar. The rumor? Anthony gave Sparky facial features inspired by his former boss, Walt Disney, as a subtle, tongue-in-cheek nod after leaving Disney. Anthony later said any resemblance was purely coincidental... but once you see it, you really can’t unsee it. Real or not, the story only adds to Sparky’s legacy 😈🔱 #ASU #SunDevils #CollegeMascots #ArizonaHistory #Viral Via: Sun Devils Worldwide
