✨ BIG NEWS ✨ FERTILITY EQUALITY 🌈 We did it y’all! 😭 We literally cannot believe we are typing these words... today it has been announced by the government that same-sex female couples will NO LONGER have to self-fund fertility treatments in England. The barrier to PROVING infertility before receiving help on the NHS has been removed. Instead same-sex female couples will RECEIVE fertility treatments on the NHS regardless of fertility status. 🥹😭😭 The government have published a new Women’s Health Strategy to tackle closing the gender health gap. It includes an aim to remove the barriers for same-sex female couples in accessing fertility treatments and IVF, as well as improving transparency around the ‘postcode lottery’. Swipe to find out more! 👉 We screamed and cried when we found out the news. This is exactly what we hoped to achieve when starting our campaign and legal action in the fight for fertility equality. We hoped it would create awareness and to set a precedent and be a catalyst for change. We dreamed it would help create a future where LGBTQ+ families would be treated as equal. The fact we may be seeing this day very soon, that it’s actually going to be a reality that will positively impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of LGBTQ+ people who can now create a family is more than a dream come true. 🥹 You all joined us in helping to create awareness around fertility equality, from signing & sharing our petition, to writing to your MP & creating awareness online.
