China is opening up to the rest of the world. ⁠ ⁠ From January 8, inbound travellers will not be required to quarantine. The country announced the move as part of a wider plan that dismantles the remnants of a zero-Covid regime that was implemented shortly after the pandemic first emerged.⁠ ⁠ Late this year, the policy began to unravel as authorities struggled to contain outbreaks across multiple cities, including the capital Beijing.
