Alright— coming out of my processing-cave! My goodness. Words just cannot scratch the surface of the enormous and unmatchable experience that was POTUS. To have played a character, like Stephanie, with an arc that goes from reserved and insecure to uninhibted and powerful was just.. magical and uncanny, as I feel it paralleled my own arc as an immigrant and woman of color who’d learned (and frankly— is still learning) to really “take up space” in a country that STILL seems to brush off the critical importance of having more seats at the table for womxn and womxn of color. With Stephanie, I feel like I climbed up onto that table... and then SMASHED it...?? So ... all that to say— thank you Stephanie for reminding me that I’ve come a long way.
