Alderman Howard Brookins has served his ward with compassion, kindness, and grit for nearly 20 years. Not only has he established himself as a trustworthy representative of the Auburn Gresham and Washington Heights communities, but also as an authentic and dependable colleague on the City Council. As Chairman of the Transportation Committee, Alderman Brookins fought to increase mobility for South Side residents with the launch of the City's electric scooter program. In the 21st Ward, he cultivated affordable housing, new retail choices, and the ward's very first Starbucks. I will greatly miss his presence on the City Council and wish him all the best in his next chapter.
