I received this letter when I was in my lowest depression at 21 (before I finally sought help for my OCD) promising to dismiss me from college ONE semester before graduation. I find it funny I almost got kicked out of the business school because I was busy building my own business. I hit my lowest low at this point. I had no revenue yet for Newsette, no job offers lined up, and my parents were in hysterics. But I survived because I had no other option. I ended up getting the following note if you swipe right one semester later, congratulating me on being on the Dean’s List with one of the highest GPAs because that final semester I was finally able to only take entrepreneurship courses and was surrounded by professors who encouraged my passion. Bottom line: book smart does not 🟰 success and being a bad student does not 🟰 career failure. Hopefully one day we will stop being measured by the same barometer — and those with ADHD (like me) or creative talent that doesn’t translate in the classroom won’t be made to feel small or incapable. ♥️ You are capable of it all
