I just want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the village of people who worked so hard to produce the concert we put on with the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra. We were all so thrilled with the terrific turnout for this new event! LC Powell, Ashley Faatoalia, and Lesley Leighton were on fire last night! I’m still getting texts, calls, and messages about the three of these titans! I can’t wait till we all collaborate next! A huge thanks to the team of incredible arrangers that helped us customize last nights experience with modern, fresh takes on old classics - Jamey Tate, Alan Steinberger,Brian Hodge, Michael Barry, Adam Jones, and Brent Fischer. The audience RAVED! Most of all, I must mention our fearless leader, our magnificent Executive Director Anne Viricel, the best possible partner-in-crime, who executed this massive and daunting undertaking with style and grace. Singlehandedly coordinating and organizing the press, in-kind donors, cash donors, ticket purchasers, elected officials,volunteers, tech people, facilities people, the Valley College people, and fireworks peoplee so masterfully is the work of a superwoman! Working alongside you has been a dream as Music Director. And since the “cat is out of the bag”, the Board of Directors have offered a 3 year contract extension as Music Director with the SBSO, and I have accepted!
