MAY THE LAND PROVIDE YOUR FAMILY WITH FOOD With all the livestock gone, due to the drought ravaging this region, and unable to buy food, Aliwo is forced to forage for poisonous berries, which she has to boil at least ten times to make safe to eat. The only water that is available in this area, for cooking, drinking, and bathing, is salty. ................................ Our “MAY YOU...” project came about as a reaction to my last trip to the Horn of Africa, with @concernworldwideus, where the region is enduring the worst drought in 40 years. As we left conversations with people, they would say, “May your family be blessed.” I was constantly shocked that these people, who had nothing, least of all hope, were able to find it in their hearts to bless a fellow human being. It highlighted to me that we ARE all connected, and I started to think about other blessings that we would all want to wish upon our fellow brothers and sisters.
