Man, that was a special one... When I got asked to play @openairfly I knew my Grandad would be right up for it. He grew up round here and used to play in the forest around the grounds when he was a kid. He got his first ever job when he was 12 years old delivering milk, and Hopetoun House was one of of the stops on the route. It was my Grandad who first saw an advert in the local paper for a piano that was free to a good home when I was a kid, and from there is where it all started for me in music. He’s a massive inspiration so to be able to bring him on stage in front of thousands of people was an absolute privilege and I won’t lie I got pretty emotional watching everyone cheer and ask for pictures with him, and watching him milk it too haha. He’s 89 years old btw. A proper massive thanks to @littlegaybro for bringing the party and for getting stuck in, that was an unbelievable moment ❤️ Oh and if you ever see him out in Edinburgh, Vodka Irn Bru is his drink of choice 🌊🏊‍♂️
